1. What We Do Not Collect
This site is a set of static, client-side calculators. That design has a privacy consequence worth stating clearly:
- Calculator inputs stay on your device. Your electricity bill amount, city, appliance list, loan figures and every other input are processed by JavaScript in your own browser. They are never transmitted to our servers, never stored by us and never shared, because there is no backend that could receive them.
- No accounts, no registration, no newsletters. We have no login system and no forms that save data.
- We set no cookies of our own. All cookies on this site come from the Google services described below (see the cookie policy for the full list).
2. What Is Collected, and by Whom
Google Analytics (GA4)
We use Google Analytics to understand which calculators are used, from which regions, on which devices, so we know what to improve. GA4 collects usage data such as pages viewed, approximate (city-level) location derived from IP, device and browser type, and assigns a random identifier cookie to distinguish visitors. We see only aggregated reports; we cannot identify you personally from them. IP addresses are not logged or stored by GA4 as retrievable data.
Google AdSense
This site is funded by advertising served through Google AdSense. Google and its certified partners may use advertising cookies and identifiers to serve ads, measure their performance, and, where you have consented or where permitted, personalise them based on your visits to this and other websites. How Google uses information from sites that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Hosting logs
Like virtually every website, our hosting infrastructure may keep short-lived technical logs (IP address, requested URL, timestamp) for security and reliability. We do not use these to identify visitors.
If you write to contact@solarcalculators.online, we use your email address and message solely to respond, and we do not add you to any list or share your address.
3. Your Choices and Rights
- Ad personalisation: opt out at adssettings.google.com, or industry-wide at aboutads.info/choices. You will still see ads, just non-personalised ones.
- Analytics: block GA with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or any content blocker; every calculator works fully with analytics blocked.
- Cookies: manage or delete them in your browser settings at any time; see the cookie policy for what each one does.
- Consent (EEA/UK/Switzerland): visitors from regions where consent is required are shown a consent message before advertising cookies are used, and can decline personalised ads.
- India (DPDP Act, 2023): since we hold no personal data about visitors, there is nothing for us to correct or erase; requests concerning Google's processing should be directed to Google via the links above, and you can always email us with questions.
4. Children
This site provides financial and technical planning tools and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
5. Changes to This Policy
If we ever add features that change our data practices (for example a feedback form), we will update this page and its effective date before the change goes live. Material changes will be noted on this page.
